Online Card Classes - Kick Start!

Hi everyone!

I've been in a bit of a creative rut recently as work has been super busy, leaving me very little time for creative play for myself. 

My biggest issue right now is that I have a craft space that looks like a bomb shelter (to put it mildly heehee) and just the thought of cleaning it up steers me clear away from it. Mr. T and I have planned to get me a proper craft desk with extra storage, which we are planning to put together soon! Yay!

I always sign up for all classes on Online Card Classes, because the teachers Kristina Werner and Jennifer McGuire are AMAZING and each lesson is really well put together and a pleasure to watch. This time round I am determined to play along! There's still time to sign up if you're interested :)

Here's a card that I created using a colour combo that I got from a craft magazine submission call that can't find any more ... 

Made using my beloved WOW! Embossing Powders of course! ;) 

And I am very obsessed with everything Prima these days and I have been experimenting with all the wonderful layering and texture that is ever present on all design team projects! Here's my baby-step attempt:

Hi All,

After spying on everyone else's desks and reassuring myself that everyone is just as messy as I am (Mr T would disagree) I share my work-in-progress stuff and the cluttered glory of my craft desk!

My newest toys! Complete set of Dylusions from the lovely Laura at Artful Splodger

And here's "some" delicious WOW! Embossing Powder waiting to be turned into a project for CHA :D

You can sort of see my drawer o'punches and my beloved Janome sewing machine in the corner. Plus some canvases from the Works waiting to be altered!

And here's a finished project I made a few days ago using super adorable Lawn Fawn stamps.

This will be a perfect present for one of my cousins!

Paper Artsy - Artful Mini Album

I finally worked up the nerve to put this little mini-album together. the idea was to use all of the Paper Artsy stamps that I had been hoarding including the gorgeous Lynne Perrella ones!

I am so pleased with how it turned out! I made the cover and just couldn't decide how I wanted the inside pages to be ... and then I thought: I will do exactly as I want because it's mine to play with! So I dove in head first, and went along with the first idea that came into my head and I like to think it works. I am especially proud of the cover (I used Paper Artsy metal sheets and alcohol ink to add the metallic highlights) . I had great fun distressed a piece of cloth for the backdrop of the centre-piece. Each page has texture on it somewhere: the distressed pages, the mica sheets, fusible fibres, moulding paste, embossing with my beloved WOW! Clear Matt embossing powder (this stuff MUST be tried with Pan Pastels)! The cover is made from canvas cloth and sticky back canvas.

I had great fun making this little mini and have sent it off for publication too, let's see what happens there. You won't know until you try, right? :)

This was also the first time I got really messy with Paper Artsy Fresco paints and they are absolutely divine to play with. I especially love how easy it is to layer different translucent colours on top of each other to get lovely effects. I even added some of the Snowflake  Fresco Finish by watering it down a bit and using it as a mist in a cheap spray bottle. I also used a lot of my Crafter's Workshop stencils ... I woke up one fine day and discovered that I had a collection! :D

A Manly Pair!

Whimsical Stationary Set

Hi All!

We just flew in today and we got some lovely sunny weather last few days. I am even browner than before :D

Here's a another project that I made with my Prima goodies. This time I used the Songbird collection.

I think I might have gotten a little carried away with the accessories *heehee*.Needless to say, my inner little girl was very happy x

This will live on my office desk and make me smile :)

Dream Curio Display

Hi All,

Just a quick post to say that I am going away on holiday for a week ... we're going to Rome!!! What bliss, we haven't been on holiday in a while, and I am hoping that it doesn't rain too much! I promise to take lots of pictures and share.

Here's what I have been upto. I've been playing with  some Prima Marketing goodies I bought a while ago :)

Embellishments from various Prima  lines - This case in its former life used to be a thimble display ... and a bargain from an antique shop!

 I've made a few more projects using all the lovelies that I bought from Craftie Charlie who have amazing customer service as they helped me out when I had a spot of trouble with my order. Check them out! They keep updating their  catalogue on an almost weekly basis! I'll try to share the other projects over the next few weeks after I come back.

Oh and I'm entering this into the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge called Anything Goes!

Something a Little Different

I'd been stuck in a bit of a rut and had lost all crafting mojo. I've joined an Art Journalling group for women on facebook and the inspiration and the encouragement is intoxicating so I just dove in! I've been taking my little Strathmore visual journal to work along with my trusty Derwent Inktense pencils and happily making messes during lunch. I am just happy that I am creating everyday :)

Such a huge departure from my usual style, but I love it!
